The differences between our [F-Series] Q-Switched and our [S-Series] MOPA fiber laser markers

Our Q-Switched fiber lasers have been the workhorse of the industry for many years. Our Master Oscillator Power Amplifier [MOPA] lasers offer greater flexibility in laser pulse control. The key differences between these two fiber laser types are listed in the following table.

FEATURESQ-Switched Fiber Laser (F-Series)MOPA Fiber Laser (S-Series)
Lower Cost of Operation than ND:YAG
Better Pulse-to-Pulse Stability than ND:YAG
Better Beam Quality than ND:YAG
Low Maintenance Compared to ND:YAG
Mark a Wide Variety of Materials
Both CW and Pulsed Operation
Variable Pulse Widths 10-200ns
Below 20KHz Pulse Operation
Capable of >100kHz Pulse Operation

If you have one type of material that you mark or engrave on all of the time, and you do not need the extra pulse-shaping technology of the S-Series MOPA Fiber Laser, then the F-Series Q-Switched Fiber Laser would be your best choice. If, however, you are constantly lasing on different materials, then the S-Series MOPA Fiber Laser would be a better choice since it gives you greater flexibility to work with.
